Local context
Cyprus's Harmonised Index of Consumer Prices rose 5.2% year on year in August 2026 and 1.5% from July. Restaurants and accommodation increased 13.3% annually, transport 9.8%, while clothing and footwear fell 5.5%.
Who this matters to
Energy recorded the largest economic-category increase, up 15.0% from August 2025 and 4.0% from July. Services rose 7.4% annually, while non-energy industrial goods declined 2.4%. The new index uses 2025 as its reference year.
