Cyprus issued 735 building permits in May 2026, 21.1% more than a year earlier. Their total value reached €428.2 million and the permitted area was 352,100 square metres, with 1,847 housing units planned.
Who this matters to
For January–May, 3,650 permits were issued, up 32.1%. Total value rose 43.9%, area 43.1% and planned homes 63.7% to 8,978. CYSTAT notes that the new district organisations now process applications through the Hippodamos system, including older backlogged files.
